Mike Penning appointed Minister for Transport

Hemel MP, Mike Penning, has been appointed a Government Minister at the Department for Transport.
Mike Penning, MP for Hemel Hempstead, has been appointed as a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Transport.
Mike, who had been a Shadow Health Minister, said:
“I was very happy to accept the appointment in such a key department. It is a great honour to be appointed as a Government Minister. Obviously with the formation of the coalition government a lot of Shadow Ministers will not get positions.
“There are tremendous challenges facing our transport networks and infrastructure which will play a critical role in our country’s recovery from the recession.”
